On Sunday 19th November Teikyo University took part in Durham Rotary Club’s annual Swimathon. The Swimathon is a charity event in which teams of swimmers are sponsored to swim as far as they can in 30 minutes, with proceeds going to the Great North Air Ambulance service and other worthy local causes. Ryutaro, So, Yusuke, Taichi and myself took part in this year’s Swimathon, cheered on by Asami, Chihiro and Yohei. Between the five of us we swam a total of 186 lengths (4,650m) in the 30 minute window, much better than we had expected! It was a tiring but very rewarding experience!
